The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against the prime accused in the murder case of Pabna journalist Suborna Akter Nodi.
ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique filed the case on Tuesday at the Pabna Sadar police station, against Nodi’s former- father-in-law Abul Hossain, mother-in-law Taslima Hossain, and husband Rajib Hossain, for illegally obtaining wealth.

Abul is the owner of Indigenous Drugs Laboratories (IDruL) and Shimla Hospital and Diagnostic Centre. In the case details, he and his family are accused of illegally obtaining Tk11.51 crore and failing to submit an income source and wealth statement in due time.
From 1977 to date, ACC has found that Abul has property worth Tk40.66 crore, including fixed assets. From this he illegally made more than Tk8 core. His wife made Tk2.49 crore illegally, and his son Rajib made Tk1.05 crore. Apart from this, Rajib has illegal assets worth Tk1.93 crore.
The accused were asked by the ACC to show their income and wealth statement by September 4, which they failed to produce.
Earlier on August 28, criminals hacked Nodi, 30, to death when she was entering her home in Pabna town, and she died at Pabna Medical College Hospital the same night. Nodi was the Pabna correspondent for Ananda TV.
The victim’s mother, Marjina Begum, later filed a case with the Pabna police station on September 1, accusing Nodi’s former husband Rajib, his father Abul, IDruL Manager, Samsuzzaman Milon, and some others.
Police arrested Abul and Milon after the incident but Rajib went into hiding, RAB said.
