According to BGB sources, Dilip was wandering aimlessly after crossing the 1984 4S pillar
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained an Indian citizen over allegations for trespassing into Bangladesh through the Madhabpur border in Habiganj.
The detainee- Dilip Sarkar, 25, is a resident of Bishalgarh district in India. BGB handed him over to Madhabpur police around 11:30pm on Wednesday.
According to BGB sources, Dilip was wandering aimlessly after crossing the 1984 4S pillar. He entered Bangladesh illegally through the Jaloabad border region under Shahjahanpur union in Madhabpur upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
A patrol team of BGB 55 Rajendrapur BOP, led by Nayek Subedar Kawsar Ahmed, detained him from the spot.
Confirming the matter, Subedar Kawsar told the Dhaka Tribune: "The detainee Dilip Sarkar has been handed over to Madhabpur police station. I have also filed a case against him."
Meanwhile, Madhabpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty told the correspondent that Dilip will be taken to Habiganj court on Thursday.
