Thakurgaon's newly-appointed Superintendent of Police asked for journalists to cooperate in combating drugs and terrorism
Thakurgaon’s newly-appointed Superintendent of Police (SP), Mohammad Moniruzzaman, announced a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. He announced this during a meeting with journalists in Thakurgaon district.
The meeting was arranged on Wednesday, at noon, in a conference room of the SP’s office. Moniruzzaman asked for the co-operation and support of journalists for peace, protection, and the elimination of terrorism in the area.
Thakurgaon Press Club President Monsur Ali, Vice President Zakir Mustafiz Milu, General Secretary Lutfur Rahman Mithu, Senior Journalist Abdul Latif, and Rafiqul Islam also addressed the meeting.
Thakurgaon police station officers, press club presidents, general secretaries of various districts and upazilas, and electronic media journalists attended the meeting.
Thakurgaon sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Latif Miah, Additional Superintendent (ASP) of Police Chailu Marma, Hasibul Alam (Ranisankail Circle), Mashfikur Rahman (Pariganj Circle), District Intelligence officer Nazmul Alam, were present at the occasion.
Moniruzzaman listened to journalists' views about law enforcement's actions and urged them to work with the police on issues of the district's safety and security.
The journalists thanked the police for organizing the meeting and have expressed their firm determination in continuing their mutual co-operation.
