A teenage boy has been shot to death in a clash between two rival groups in Faridpur.
The incident occurred in Joypasha village of Boalmari upazila on Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased is Syed Nazim Ali, 17, of the same village.
Boalmari police station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam said: "Syed Abdur Rahman Bashar, former chairman of the upazila and Abu Syed Mia, a former UP member, have a longstanding dispute to establish authority in the area."
As a consequence of the enmity, an altercation ensued between the supporters of the two groups around 8am.
At one point, both groups attacked each other, precipitating a violent clash, leaving Ali dead on the spot.
Acting on information, police went to the crime scene and brought the situation under control.
