Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised yesterday to keep the local cautionary signal no three hoistedas the Land depression over Gangetic-West Bengal and adjoining areas moved northeastwards, weakened into well marked low first and then into a low.
The land depression was lying over southwestern part of Gangetic-West Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal of the country at 3 pm yesterday, said a Met office bulletin, reports UNB.
It is likely to move northeastwards further inland and become unimportant.
Under its influence, steep pressure gradient persists over North-Bay, the deep convection is taking place over North Bay and coastal areas of Bangladesh; the stormy weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal- areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
