Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation announced the strike on Friday
The long route commuters of Sylhet suffered as divisional transport workers staged an eight-hour strike demanding an eight-point charter including an amendment to the Road Transport Act 2018 yesterday.

The organization also held a rally at South Surma Bus Terminal from 6am to 2pm halting road communication on the Sylhet-Dhaka, Sylhet-Sunamganj, and Sylhet-Moulvibazar routes.
The worker leaders threatened another two-day strike from October 28 if the authorities concerned fail to meet their demands by October 27.
