Bullet-riddled body of drug trader found in Teknaf

Police also recovered 5,000 yaba pills from the spot

Police have recovered the bullet-riddled body of a suspected drug trader from near the Marine Drive in Maheshkhali Para under Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.

The body of the deceased, Mufiz Alam, 40, was recovered in the early hours of Wednesday. 

Mufiz was from Hinla union under the upazila.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Superintendant of Cox's Bazar police ABM Masud said acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the Marine Drive area. Understanding police presence, the drug traders engaged in a gunfight with the police. 

Later, police recovered Mufiz's body, riddled with bullets,  from the spot, he said.

The body will be sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. 

Police also recovered 5,000 yaba pills tablets, five LG guns, and 20 rounds of bullets from the spot.
