As a part of a probe, law enforcement agencies have arrested some suspected instigators
The suspected instigators of the ready-made garment (RMG) industry workers’ protests —and unrest regarding the newly-announced wage structure—will be investigated.
Dhaka district Superintendent of Police Shah Migan Shafiur Rahman remarked this while addressing the press, in Jamgora area, around 11am on Tuesday.
Claiming there is no unrest by RMG workers at the factories, he said: "An investigation is underway. We are trying to identify the instigators. We have arrested a few suspects. Continuous drives are being performed to arrest the others.
"We have deployed additional members of law enforcement to ensure the security of the factories situated in Ashulia industrial zone."
However, earlier in the day, after eight days of demonstrations protesting wage discrepancies—by the RMG workers of factories in Dhaka, Gazipur, Savar, and Ashulia — have resumed to their respective work.
