Around 10 to 15 robbers have looted a Bangladesh Foundry & Engineering Works Limited (BFEW) factory at gunpoint plundering goods worth Tk 9 lac, in Lalpurahar area of Ashulia.
On Wednesday, a group of about 10-15 people, allegedly led by a local Jubo League leader Sohel Molla, entered the factory's warehouse and took away the keys of the main gate by assaulting three security personnel, said Ashulia police station OC Rizaul Haque Dipu.
They intimidated everyone and in the meantime, a truck entered and valuable goods used in the construction firm were looted, said Managing Director of the factory Khandaker Rahmat Ullah.
When contacted on his mobile phone, Jubo League leader Sohel Molla, the accused in the incident, could not be found.
In the incident, Khandaker filed a case with Ashulia police station.
Necessary measures will be taken after investigating the matter, police said.
