The senior journalist was buried beside his parents’ graves
Veteran journalist Amanullah Kabir, who died in Dhaka on Wednesday, has been buried in his family graveyard at Rekhirpara village in Melandaha upazila of Jamalpur.
He was buried beside his parents’ graves around 10am on Thursday,following a third namaz-e-janaza, held on the premises of Uttar Rekhirpara Government Primary School.
Shatil Kabir, the eldest son of the renowned journalist, requested all to pray for the eternal peace of his father’s departed soul.
Earlier on Wednesday, Amanullah's body arrived at Jamalpur Press Club, where people from all walks of life, including politicians from different parties and journalists, paid their last respects.
He passed away at the age of 71 at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital on Wednesday.He had been suffering from diabetes and other complications.
Born in 1947 in Jamalpur, AmanullahKabir worked for several Bangla and English news outlets in the country duringhis five decades injournalism.
