Shankha Ghosh, a prominent Bengali Indian poet and literary critic, will attend the inauguration ceremony of this year’s Amar Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka, as a guest of honour at the Bangla Academy.
The Ministry of Information confirmed the news, saying the veteran poet has accepted the invitation for attending the inauguration of the month-long festival, which is set to start from February 1.
Sources close to Shankha Ghosh said that if he is in good health, he will be present at the inauguration ceremony.
The much-anticipated book fair every year invites prominent personalities as guests of honour to the inauguration ceremony.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Ekushey Book Fair.
Shankha Ghosh is also a noted Rabindranath expert. Among his notable books are ‘Mukh Dheke Jay Biggapone’, ‘E Amir Aboron’, ‘Urboshir Hashi’ and many more.
