Policeman’s body recovered in Kurigram

A policeman was found dead in Naodanga union of Phulbari upazila in Kurigram.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 55, a constable of Phulbari police station and a resident of Boro Akhira village of Adamdighi upazila in Bogra.

Phulbari police recovered his body around 11:30pm on Tuesday, confirmed Phulbari police station OC, Khandaker Fuad Ruhani, to Dhaka Tribune.

OC Ruhani said the deceased policeman was present on duty at the police station till 9pm on Tuesday. After work he went to Purbofulmati village of Naodanga union in the the district on personal work.

However, the OC could not confirm the reason for his visit. Police recovered the body and after  locals informed the police.

When asked about the reason behind his death, Ruhani said the policeman died of a heart attack.

He added that arrangements have been made to hand over Aminul’s body to his family.
