Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route have been restored after a four-and-a-half hour long fog-related stoppage.
The services resumed at 8am on Thursday.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Manager (trade) Salauddin Hossain confirmed the matter and said: “The ferry service was shut off to avoid accidents.
“There was dense fog all around. We resumed services at 8am once the visibility was better.”
He also said this created a backlog of hundreds of vehicles that are waiting to cross the Padma river.
