The students have been protesting for the second consecutive day
Students of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) have been protesting demanding justice for the death of their classmate.
They are demonstrating in honour of the deceased Wasim Afnan, 22—a fourth-year student of the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department of SAU—who was run over by a bus after its helper reportedly pushed him off the vehicle, in Sherpur area of Sylhet on Saturday.
Monday marked the second consecutive day students boycotted classes and exams, in protest.
As a part of the three days of programs—which includes demands for the case to be tried as murder instead of road accident, proceeding with the trial within three days, and boycotting all university exams and classes during the three days—that was announced on Sunday, students continued their demonstration on Monday.

Previously, on Sunday, both the driver and helper of the bus that ran over the SAU student were sent to jail.
