2 killed , 4 injured in separate lightning strikes in Pabna

A woman and a child were killed and four others injured in separate lightning strikes on two fields in Chatmohar upazila, Pabna.

The incidents occurred around 3pm on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Shanto Hossain,12, and Rina Khatun, 28.

The injured were Shahnaj Khatun, 35,  Rehena Khatun, 40 , Kabil Pramanik,50 , and Musa Hossain, 13.

Shanto  and the others were returning home in the middle of the rain while they were struck by a lightning bolt. Rina khatun was injured in another field in the same area while she was on her way home with her goat, said Inspector (Investigation) of Chatmohar Police Station Shariful Islam

Shanto and Rina were declared dead by the on-duty doctor after locals rushed them  to the upazila health complex, the inspector added.
