After the incident the family members decided to bury the victim without autopsy
A court here ordered exhuming of the Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) student who was killed after being pushed off a running bus.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Ali Ahsan of the district’s magistrate court directed the Habiganj district magistrate, superintendent of police and Nabiganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) in this regard, on Tuesday.
As per the instructions, the student, Wasim Afnan's body was dug up from the grave and was sent for autopsy as it had not been done before the burial.
Moulvibazar Additional Superintendent of police Md Rashedul confirmed and said after the incident the family members had initially decided to bury the victim without autopsy.
Wasim, 22, a fourth-year student of the biotechnology and genetic engineering department of the university, was run over by a bus after its helper pushed him off the vehicle at Sherpur in Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar on March 23.
Earlier, Moulvibazar Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Bahauddin sent bus driver Jewel Ahmed, 30, and his helper, Mashuk Mia, 31, into remand after the police produced them before the court on Wednesday, said Moulvibazar model police station OC Sohel Ahmed.
On March 25, SAU authorities filed a case against the bus driver, helper and supervisor over Wasim’s death. The driver and helper were arrested shortly after the incident, and during primary interrogation, both confessed of their involvement.
