A teenage student was hospitalized after being reportedly beaten by the vice-principal in Gopalganj.

The incident took place at Kalinagar High School in Muksudpur upazila on Monday.

Baishakhi Bala, 13, a seventh grader of Kalinagar High School was beaten for not taking private tuition from the school’s vice principal, Bidhan Biswas, claimed her mother Putul Bala.

Putul Bala said: "The Vice Principal,  Bidhan Biswas wanted my daughter to take private tuitions from him but we did not want to send her to the teacher.”

“On Monday, around 6am, my daughter was waiting with her cousin in front of a class room to receive private tuition from the part time teacher in the school,” said Paritosh Mukharjee, a part time teacher at the school.

“As the teacher was late my daughter was talking with her cousin. Bidhan Biswas was in his private tuition class at the time,” her mother said.

“All of a sudden he grabbed my daughter by the hair and repeatedly slapped her. My daughter's right ear was swollen after the incident,” she added.

Bidhan Biswas said, he only slapped her once when she broke a class room door. He denied the allegations of trying to force her to join his private tuition.

She was admitted to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex. She is now having hearing problem.

“My daughter is constantly crying and refusing to go to school in fear of the teacher. I demand justice in this incident," Putul Bala said.

Headmaster of the school, Manimohan Mondal said: "After the incident I along with Bidhan went to visit Baishakhi in the health complex. I have promised to deliver justice to Baishakhi's family."
