Police have sent him back to Feni
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested one of the accused in the Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case from Mymensingh.
Nuruddin, one of the accused in the Sonagazi female madrasa student murder, was arrested in the district's Bhaluka area around 11am on Friday.
Confirming the matter, Mymensingh PBI Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abu Bakar Siddiqui said: "We have arrested Nuruddin and he has been sent to Feni.
Earlier, on April 8, the victim's brother filed the case with the Sonagazi police station accusing several people, including the four burqa-clad girls who —according to what the victim told her brother on the way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday—set her on fire on the madrasa's rooftop.
A team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) earlier arrested Feni Awami League leader, Moksud Alam, from a hotel in Dhaka Thursday night in connection with the murder of Sonagazi Madrasa student, Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
Nusrat was set on fire on April 6—right before her Alim examination—on the madrasa's rooftop, by four masked individuals, reported to be supporters of madrasa principal Md Sirajuddaula.
The victim's family had previously, on March 27, lodged a sexual harassment case against madrasa principal Md Sirajuddaula, accusing him of attempting to rape the girl in his office.
Till now, police have arrested 11 people in connection with the attack, including the madrasa's principal.
