Local divers recovered the body of a college student from Piyain river in Jaflong , Sylhet on Saturday.
The deceased, Akikur Rahman Anik, a first year student of economics department at Sylhet MC College, went missing in the river on Friday.
Gowainghat police station OC (Investigation) Hillol Roy said: "Local divers recovered the body around 12:30pm on Saturday."
According to the police and friends of the deceased, Anik with seven of his friends went to a tour of Jaflong. He drowned in the afternoon while bathing in the river.
On the day of the incident, combined efforts of divers from the police, Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB), and Fire Service and Civil Defence, failed to recover the body.
