Police on Tuesday arrested three men for attempting to steal a police vehicle in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga.
Hossain Mahmud, 25, Riyad Uddin, 24, and Billal Hossain, 35, were arrested possessing a foreign pistol, a magazine with two rounds of bullets, a Chinese axe, and a machete.
Jibannagar police station OC, Ferdous Wahid, said: “Several men tried to hijack a vehicle and tried to flee, realizing it was a police vehicle. Hossain, Riyad, and Billal were arrested; their associates fled.”
According to Jibannagar police station OC, Ferdous Wahid: “The men have been handed over to the court, and a case has been filed under the Arms Act.”
