Man on the run after reportedly raping 6 kids in Jessore

On Wednesday morning, scores of parents and children protested outside the school

Update : 01 May 2019, 05:40 PM

A man has been accused of raping six students of Khorki Government Primary School in Jessore.

According to the parents who complained, Aminur Rahman—a 45-year-old father of three—had been raping six students from the second grade, third grade, and fourth grade.

Ferdousi Ara, head teacher at the school, confirmed the accusations.

On Wednesday morning, scores of parents and children protested outside the school.

The accusers said Aminur, a land broker, had been luring the children with chocolate and fruit—to lower their guard—and then sexually abused them.

However, on April 28, five students failed to appear for a school exam. When Ferdousi asked them about their absence, they revealed what had occurred and proceeded to further investigate.

A probe committee was formed the same day and found that Aminur had been raping six students for over a year.

The school’s managing committee’s president, Shah Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, said the school has decided to press charges.

Concerned parents have demanded capital punishment for Aminur, citing the horror of his actions and the need to set an example.

Inspector Samir Kumar Sarkar with Kotwali police station said a case is being filed and the police are looking for Aminur.
