Teacher accused of sexual harassment in Gopalganj

Police have detained a school teacher accused of sexually harassing a seventh-grade student in Gopalganj.

The accused, Miraj Hossain Molla, an assistant teacher at Korpara Bohumukhi High School, was detained on Wednesday.

Following the accusation, the school authorities have suspended him.

According to the student’s family members, on Sunday, Miraj sexually harassed the female student at a birthday party.

Gopalganj police station Officer-in-Charge Md Monirul Islam said: “We are currently questioning the accused over the incident. We will consult with our superiors and take necessary steps at the earliest.”
