The Cadet College Club Lit Society (CCCLS) was formed on May 2, as a part of ex-cadets’ dedication and contribution to the literary arena of Bengali society.
Architect Shakoor Majid chaired the Thursday meeting, where a 10 member management committee was formed. Other members are Co-Chairs Ekram Kabir, Lutful Hossain and Kazi Ahmad Pervez, Treasurer Masud Bulbul , Member Secretary Avik Sanwar Rahman, and executive members Miraj Ul Islam, Quamrul Hassan, Tahmina Shabnam Haque and Sabiha Rahman Jeetu.
The Lit Society has been formed to organize literary activities and to enrich literary span of the members, spouses, family members, and other ex-cadets.
The CCCLS will publish a quarterly magazine to promote and highlight authors. Cadets’ children will be encouraged to write in both English and Bangla.
In addition, it will organize literary events, and invite famous literary personalities to discuss various literary aspects, issues, analysis, and writing techniques, at symposiums and seminars.
The society will organize a joint Dhaka-Kolkata literary festival, and an international literary festival. The CCCLS will help publish books authored by its members, and attend international fairs to promote said books. The society will act as a catalyst to develop literary activities of the members and boost the image of the club to others.
