A student has committed suicide after failing the Dakhil examination, the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board equivalent to the SSC, in Thakurgaon.
The deceased was identified as Shahab Uddin, 16. He was a student at a madrasa in Baliadangi upazila of the district.
After overdosing on antacid, the student was first taken to the upazila health complex, from where he was transferred to Adhunik Sadar Hospital in the district. He died while undergoing treatment at around 9:30pm.
Baliadangi police station OC Mosabberul Huq said he was aware of the incident, and police have been sent to the house of the decease
