Police have also recovered drugs from the scene
Police have arrested eight suspected criminals near the Bangladesh-India border, in Benapole, Jessore.
They were arrested on Thursday after the police conducted a raid.
Benapole port police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Saleh Masud Karim confirmed the incident.
The arrestees are: Rezaul Gazi, 56; Rabiul Hossain, 44; Mohitul Ali Gazi, 35; Shamim Hossain Tutul, 35; Muktar Hossain, 22; Imran Hossain, 37; Abdul Gani, 32; and Ashok Das, 33.
Police said they conducted the raid after receiving information that criminals were hiding in the area. Drugs were also recovered from the scene.
The OC said: “We have sent them [the arrestees] to Jessore court.”
