Three of the deceased have been identified
Six people have been killed—and 12 others injured—in a road accident in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fakirhat police station, Abu Jihad Sheikh, said the bus crashed into a roadside tree around 9:45am on Saturday morning.
Three of the deceased are Md Farhad Hossain, 46, from Rupsha upazila; Hekmat Biswas, 45, from Bagerhaat Sadar upazila; and Kuddus Sarder, 60, from Kayra upazila.

Deputy Assistant Director of Bagerhat fire service, Masud Sarder, said the accident occurred when a bus crashed into a tree after its driver lost steering control — leaving five people dead on the spot.
The injured were first admitted to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared another individual dead. Later, the other injured people were moved to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
"Some of the injured are still in critical condition," said the fire service officer.
Five units of the Bagerhat and Khulna fire service responded to the scene; while the bodies of the deceased were recovered by the police.
