A man has killed his elder brother over a family dispute in Lakshmipur.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Joynal Hossain. Police arrested his younger brother Nabir Hossain, the suspect in the incident.
According to locals, there was an illicit affair between Joynal and Nabir’s wife.
The two brothers got into an argument which escalated into a fight. At one point, Nabir hit Joynal's head and left him bleeding. Joynal was taken to Noakhali General Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
Kamalnagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Iqbal Hossain confirmed Nabir’s arrest, and said a murder case will be filed against him.
