In Chapainawabganj, a six-year-old was raped in the Railbagan slum area of Chapinawabganj municipality on Friday afternoon.
The accused Shafiqul Islam, 55, of the same area is on the run, said Chapainawabganj sadar model police station OC (investigation) Kabir Hossain.
OC Kabir said: "The girl was playing outside her home when Shafiqul took her to his room and raped her. The girl is receiving treatment in Chapainawabganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital with a vaginal injury."
He added that the girl's mother lodged a case on Friday night in connection with the incident and police are trying to arrest the accused.
Meanwhile the duty doctor Yunus Nabi of the hospital said they have found evidence of rape after primary tests of the girl.
Eight grader raped for 18 days
An eighth-grade student was reportedly abducted and raped for 18 days in Bandarban.
by a man who abducted her from Bandarban and confined her for 18 days at the Oxygen area in Chittagong Sadar upazila.
The girl's mother said on July 8 the girl was abducted on her way to Aziznagar Girl's school in Lama upazila by Saiful and some others. Later he released her on July 25 when local influential people pressured him.
Police said no case was yet filed in connection with the incident.
Another principal arrested for sexually harassing students in N'ganj
In Narayanganj, Rapid Action Battalion arrested a madrasa principal for sexually harassing students of a girls' madrasa in Fatullah upazila.
The accused is Mostafizur Rahman alias Jashim, 29, 0f Darul Huda Women's Madrasa. He is also the founder and the director of the madrasa.
RAB also confiscated recordings from the mobile phone of the accused, which contains evidence of sexual harassment, said RAB 11 Company Commander Major Nazmus Sakib in a press briefing.
He said: "After media broadcasted several incidents of rape and sexual harassment in Narayanganj's schools and madrasas, several guardians complained to us about the sexual harassments in the girl's madrasa."
"Initially we have identified four girls who were sexually harassed and aged between 10-16. The numbers might increase."
He added that Mostafizur founded the madrasa six years earlier where he lived with his family and also and ran the madrasa.
On July 4, RAB 11 arrested madrasa principal Maulana Al Amin for raping, and sexually harassing twelve students of Baitul Huda Cadet Madrasa in Fatullah.
On June 27, RAB 11 arrested Assistant Teacher Ariful Islam Sarker alias Ashraful, and Principal Zulfikar alias Rafiqul Islam of Oxford School in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj for raping at least 20 students of the school.
