Families urge government to bring back bodies of the deceased
Two Bangladeshis have been killed in Cape Town, South Africa on Sunday.
The deceased are identified as Ujjol, 32, from Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur district and Alom Molla, 34, from Naria upazila of the same district.
This increases the total death toll of Bangladeshis killed in South Africa to 10 in the last 3 years.
Ujjol owned a small grocery where Alom was his helper. At 12am, local goons came and demanded money from Ujjol. Failing to fulfill their demand, the goons shot Ujjol in the head and he died on spot.
During this time, Alom was in his house behind the shop cooking food for the night. The goons went to the house and shot him in the head, instantly killing him.
The news of their death quickly spread among their family members in Shariatpur from relatives living nearby in Cape Town.
The two dead bodies have been kept in the morgue of a local hospital.
The families have requested the government to legally bring back their dead bodies to Bangladesh.
