The four detainees entered India about six months ago in search of work
Four Bangladeshis have been held by Border Security Force (BSF) of India for illegal entry.
Indian nationals caught the detainees based on suspicious activities and handed them over at Nargaon area under Uttar Dinajpur district of Kathaldangi border Thursday evening, according to a press release by Thakurgaon BGB 50 Battalion.
The detainees -- Md Rubel, 25, Md Jamal, 22, Md Mahabub, 16, and Md Masum, 18 -- were residents of Haripur district.
BGB 50 Battalion Assistant Director Raj Mahmud said: ""To resolve the matter, we immediately contacted the BSF camp commander of Phulbari 146 BSF Battalion. "
Later, a flag meeting took place between the two camps, where the BSF camp commander acknowledged the arrest of four Bangladeshi nationals, the BGB official said.
He continued: "BSF officials did not find any Indian identification card with the four Bangladeshis during primary interrogation, after which they were sent to Goalpokhar police station in Uttar Dinajpur.
The four detainees entered India about six months ago in search of work, he said.
