Zinia said she did not submit any application seeking apology
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) has revoked the suspension order issued to its second-year Law student Fatema-tuz-Zinia.
BSMRSTU Registrar Dr Nur Uddin Ahmed issued a notice in this regard on Wednesday.
The notice said the suspension was cancelled due to an apology application submitted by the law department teachers on behalf of their student Zinia, confirmed the Chairman of BSMRSTU law department Md Abdul Kuddus Mia.
The faculties of Law department lamented over the issue and requested the authorities to revoke the suspension considering Zinia’s future.
While contacted, Zinia however said she did not submit any application seeking apology.
“I am surprised by the events that took place because I exercised my freedom of speech. I do not think I have caused any harm by being truthful,” she added.
Zinia was suspended for her alleged objectionable writings about BSMRSTU on Facebook on September 11. One of her audio recordings with BSMRSTU vice-chancellor also became viral on social media, which resulted in her suspsension.
