Crackdown on casinos: Ward Councillor Habib held in Sreemangal

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained Mohammadpur Ward Councillor Habibur Rahman Mizan from Sreemangal while he was trying to escape the country from the ongoing crackdown on casinos.

The incident occurred Friday morning. 

RAB (legal and media wing) Senior Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.

Since September 18, RAB and police have raided different clubs across Bangladesh, busting illegal casinos. A number of people, including Jubo league leaders, were detained after the raids, and then shown arrested.
