Bullet-ridden body recovered in Lakshmipur

Police have recovered two rounds of bullets, five bullet shells, and some local arms.

Police have recovered the body of a young man on Tuesday early morning in Bakultala area of Lakshmipur district.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. 

Abdul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandraganj police station, said: "We heard some gunshots early in the morning, and went to inspect the area. When we got there, we found the body of a man who had been shot.

"Later, we took him to a hospital where the doctors declared his death. We are suspecting that the man was shot during a shootout between two rival criminal groups," he added.

Police have also recovered some local arms, two rounds of bullets, and five bullet shells.
