Mahmudul Hasan Noman, brother of Nusrat Jahan Rafi, said him and their mother were threatened over the phone.
Noman, plaintiff in the Nusrat murder case, told Dhaka Tribune: "I was threatened over the phone from an unknown number on Friday. Earlier in the morning, my mother was also threatened.
Noman said, him and his family had gone to Feni court around 8:30am on Thursday, and saw that his cable connection was cut when they returned home. Police restored the cable connection six hours later.

Confirming the matter, Sonagazi Model police station Inspector (Investigation) Md Khaled Hossain said: "Around 10-12 policemen have been stationed outside their home for their security."
On October 24, Feni Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal sentenced all 16 accused in the Nusrat murder case to death, and fined them Tk1 lakh each in the case lodged over murder of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi, an alim examinee and a student of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, died on April 10 from injuries she received after supporters of former madrasa principal Md Sirajuddaula set her on fire in the madrasa premises on April 6.
She had previously lodged a sexual harassment complaint against the principal on March 27 with the Sonagazi police station, following which he was arrested, and jailed. Nusrat was set ablaze after Sirajuddaula's associates failed to intimidate her into withdrawing her complaint.
