A video of a man beating another man mercilessly went viral on social media on Sunday, after police arrested the assaulter in another case at Lalmohon upazila in Bhola.
Lalmohon police station OC Mir Khairul Kabir said the video had been shot in 2018, when the incident occurred.
However, it was only released on Sunday after the assaulter, suspected drug peddler Md Hasan, was arrested in a robbery case filed in 2015.

In the video, Hasan is seen beating a man, named Jashim Uddin, with sticks in front of his two children, after tying Jashim’s hands and legs, and taking off his clothes.
Hasan tortured Jashim because she refused to sell yaba supplied by Hasan, police said.

Both Hasan, and Jashim are from Kalma union in Lalmohon upazila.
Although the assault took place last year, the video, shot by a local, was released on Sunday, because they were afraid to make the footage public, as Hasan is influential in the area, locals told this correspondent.
Victim's wife Jainab Bibi filed a case against Hasan on Monday, OC Khairul said.
