As many as 96 robbers from 12 gangs have surrendered to police at Kalarmarchhara Government Primary School in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
They also laid down 155 locally-made firearms and 273 bullets before the law enforcement in presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary was also present in the program.
Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Iqbal Hossain said ringleaders and their associates of the robber gangs, including Zia Bahini, Kala Jahangir Bahini, Mahmuduallh Bahini, Siraj Bahini, Mujib Bahini, and Kalu Bahini, gave in to the police in the program.
