Kurigram Police on Tuesday arrested a man for reportedly raping a fifth grade schoolgirl on several occasions and recording footage of the rape.
The girl's father filed a case with Bhurungamari police station against Mizanur Rahman, who is a grocery store-keeper and has a wife and two children, said Imtiaz Kabir, OC of Bhurungamari police station.
According to the case statement, Mizanur first raped the girl a month ago after forcing her to go inside the shop when she approached it. He held a knife to her throat and recorded the incident during the rape. Later, on several occasions, he indulged in the same act and threatened to make the footage viral if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
A few days ago, Mizanur visited a cell phone repair shop as he needed to fix his device. The man repairing the phone, Kutub, chanced upon the videos and informed the girl's father.
