Abdul Jalil, a resident of Ghanshyampur in Dinajpur’s Hakimpur upazila, whose only son Ratan Mahmud is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for blood cancer, is seeking financial help from affluent people of society to save his son.
Ratan, a third-year student of computer science and engineering department at Dinajpur Polytechnic Institute, was diagnosed with blood cancer two months ago.
Ratan's treatment cost has already exceeded Tk10 lakh, which his father managed by selling his land and his wife and daughter’s jewellery. Jalil has to spend around Tk30,000 everyday for various tests and medicines.
"Doctors said Ratan could recover if he gets better treatment abroad but I don't have the capability to bear such a cost," said Jalil.
He made a plea to the generous and wealthy people of the society to help save his son.
