Two people were killed and another was injured in two separate accidents in Gopalganj and Jhenaidah.
In Jhenaidah, a motorcyclist died and his passenger severely injured after colliding with a truck on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Probhat Sharma, a salon owner of Kanchanpur village. His employee Jashim Uddin was injured.
Shailkupa police station OC Bazlur Rahman said: “Probhat along with his employee Jashim was travelling to Dholhorachandra village of Shailkupa upazila. When they reached Garaganj bazar an oncoming truck ran them over and fled the area.
“Probhat died on the spot while Jashim was injured. Police admitted (Jashim) to Jhenaidah Hospital and sent Probhat’s body to Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Hospital morgue,” he added.
In Gopalganj, a teenage tractor driver died after the trolley attached to the tractor overturned, crushing him.
The deceased was identified as Hanif Chowdhury, 15, son of Rois Chowdhury of Pukuria upazila. The accident occurred at the Chor Shonakur area of Gopalganj sadar upazila on Friday.
According to Gopalganj Sadar police station OC Monirul Islam: “Hanif was heading back with an empty trolley after delivering bricks in Chapail. He suddenly lost control of his vehicle and fell into a ditch. He died on the spot after being crushed by the trolley.”
