Mother and son found dead in Manikganj

A woman and her minor son were found dead in their home at Uttar Kaunnara village in Saturia upazila of Manikganj on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Parvin Begum, 26, wife of Majnu Miah, an expatriate, and their son Nur Mohammad, 6.

According to police, Parvin lived with her in laws and had gone to sleep with her son in their own separate bedroom after dinner Wednesday night.

Parvin’s father in law, Abdur Rahman said that he found the door of Parvin's bedroom open in the morning and saw the mother and the son lying in a pool of blood.

Saturia police station OC (Investigation) Abul Kalam said: “Parvin and her son were killed at some point last night. We suspect Parvin was molested before her throat was slashed by some unknown miscreants. Her son was stabbed to death to cover up the whole incident.”

Police detained Parvin's brother-in law Solaiman Hossain for questioning.

The bodies were taken to Manikganj 250 Bed District Hospital for autopsy.

Manikganj district Police's higher officials and a team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) visited the scene.
