Khagrachhari ‘doctor’ jailed with forged certificates

The accused imposter, Md Sifat Hasan Shaheen, is from Dania of Kadamtali in Dhaka

A mobile court sentenced a man to a year in jail for forging his medical degree and certificates in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari.

The mobile court drive led by Matiranga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Bivishan Kanti Das issued the order on Saturday.

The accused imposter, Md Sifat Hasan Shaheen, is from Dania of Kadamtali in Dhaka.

UNO Bivishan Kanti Das said: "Shaheen confessed to the mobile court that he was operating his pharmacy for a while now using forged medical certificates, including an MBBS degree. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment according to Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council law."

Chittagong BGC Trust Medical College Associate Professor Moynal Hossain and Matiranga Health Complex doctors also took part in the mobile court drive.
