19,000 little ‘Bangabandhus’ perform March 7 speech in Khulna

The students from 128 schools in the district performed the speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the grounds of Khulna District Stadium

With a vow to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a total of 19,200 Shishu Bangabandhu (Children Bangabandhu) delivered Bangabandhu’s historical 7 March speech simultaneously wearing ‘Mujib Coat’.

The students from 128 schools in the district performed the speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the grounds of Khulna District Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The event was organized by Khulna District Administration and managed by Child Integrity and Shishu Bangabandhu Forum. 

Following the speech performance by the students, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader administered an oath in which children took part, pledging to build Bangladesh with the spirit of the country's independence war and Bangabandhu’s ideals.

Eight individuals who were close to Bangabandhu and were present when Bangabandhu delivered his address on March 7, 1971 were especially honoured at the program.

The awarded personnel are: Bagerhat MP Sheikh Helal Uddin, Khulna City Corporation  Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek, Khulna MP Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, Begum Monnujan Sufian, state minister for labour and employment, Khulna Zila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Harunur Rashid, Bagerhat Zila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Kamruzzaman Tuku, and Mokbul Hossain Mintu, former president of Khulna Press Club.

The program was chaired by Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain, while Bagerhat MP Sheikh Helal Uddin was present as the chief guest on the occasion.

Among other senior government officials, bureaucrats and political leaders, teachers and parents of the students were present at the event.
