A man suffering from symptoms similar to the new coronavirus died at the isolation ward of Shariatpur Sadar Hospital on Tuesday.
The deceased 35-year-old was a resident of Naria upazila. He was a patient of tuberculosis.
Shariatpur Sadar Hospital Superintendent Dr Munir Ahmed confirmed the matter, reports a correspondent from Shariatpur.
He said: “The man was admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems and he was kept in isolation for having symptoms similar to Covid-19. His conditions deteriorated quickly.”
“He died at the hospital around 9pm on Tuesday,” he added.
Samples from the deceased will be collected and sent to Dhaka to be tested for Covid-19, he added.
