Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a man from a paddy field in Nachol

Man found dead in Bogra: Police recovered the body of a young man hanging from a tree  in Natunpara of Shahjahanpur, on Wednesday morning. The deceased, Abdul Momin, 22, was  supposedly romantically involved with a girl in the area and Momin’s family says her family might have killed him and later hung him to cover up the murder. Shahjahanpur Police SI, Sushanta Kumar Saha, said: “It is seemingly a suicide. However, we will comment on the matter after the autopsy report comes out.”

Man killed, three injured in Noakhali road accident: A man was killed and three others injured in a road accident when two motorcycles collided head on in Choumukuni Bazar of Hatia upazila, on Wednesday. The deceased, Abdul Halim, 28, was riding with his brother Abdul Hamid, who was also severely injured and in critical condition, said Hatia Police OC Abul Khair. Along with Hamid, Jafar, 65, and his son Ilias, 30, were also injured and are undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, added the official.

Teen found dead in Chandpur school: Police recovered the beheaded body of a ninth grader from the classroom of a local kindergarten school in Matlab Uttar upazila, on Wednesday. Locals say the dead body is of Kakoli, a ninth grader of Islamabad Saptamgram School, who was missing for almost a month. They also said, when a ball fell into the classroom, children playing on the school ground came to get their ball and found the dead body. Matlab Uttar Police OC Nasir Uddin said: “We are looking into the incident. We will be sure of her identification after a proper investigation.”

Man found dead in Chapainawabganj: Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a man from a paddy field in Nachol. The deceased, Abul Kashem, 45, was a fertilizer vendor and was missing from Tuesday evening, local sources said. Police detained two suspects, Habib Ali and Bakul, for questioning, said Nachol Police OC Abdul Hannan. “The body bears several injury marks and it is possible that he was killed in a revenge attack,” said the official.

School teacher found dead in Jessore: A school teacher was found hanging from the ceiling in her house in Narikelbaria of Manirampur upazila on Tuesday night. The deceased, Asma Khatun, 30, was a kindergarten teacher. Manirampur Police OC, Shikdar Matiar Rahman, said the woman’s husband, Rafiqul, developed an illicit affair with another woman and Asma might have taken her life for this, said police.

Bagerhat man killed in rivalry attack: A man was killed in an attack by his rivals at Kamar village in Mollahat upazila. Mollahat Police OC Kazi Golam Kabir said the deceased, Nur Amin, and his neighbour Atiar, engaged in an altercation around 9pm on Tuesday. At one stage, Atiar and his brothers hit Amin with a machete, leaving him injured. The deceased succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

SM Shamsur Rahman, Bagerhat

Man killed in Faridpur clash over cricket match: A 65-year-old man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers over a cricket match in Dadpur of Boalmari upazila. Boalmari Police OC Aminur Rahman, said Abu Bakkar and Kibria Mollah had a quarrel over playing cricket. At one stage, Mansur Mollah, 65, a neighbour of the two came to the spot to settle the issue, but he was hit in the head with a hard object, leaving him injured. He was taken to Faridpur General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
