Doctor found dead in Barisal

A doctor of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) was found dead in the basement of a private hospital in Barishal city on Tuesday.

The deceased, Dr MA Azad (45), was a senior consultant at the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of the SBMCH.

On being informed, police recovered the body from Mamata Specialized Hospital in Kalibari area of the city at around 10:15am, said SBMCH director Dr Bakir Hossain.

Dr Azad used to live in a room on the sixth floor of the private hospital. He had gone missing since Monday evening, said the private hospital’s director Dr Johirul Islam Manik.

Kotwali police station OC Abdur Rahman Mukur said the death of the doctor was being investigated.
