The deceased has been identified as Masura Khatun

Police recovered the decomposed body of a female garments worker from a rented house in Savar's Ashulia area on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Masura Khatun, 25, used to work at a sweater factory in Ashulia. She was the resident of Hamidpur village under Pabna Sadar upazila.

Ashulia police station Sub Inspector Azharul Islam confirmed the matter.

Azharul said: "On information, a team of law enforcers went to Dendabar area of Ashulia on Friday noon and recovered the body by unlocking a room.

Masura rented a house in Dendabar a few months ago and worked at a sweater factory in Ashulia. On Friday noon, when the landlord went in front of the room to collect rent, he smelled a foul odor from the room. Later, the landlord and other locals found Masuma dead inside the room and informed police, said Azharul, quoting locals.

"The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital. We suspect the woman might have been strangled  to death four to five days ago." the sub-Inspector added "A case will be filed in this regard.'
