Two arrested under DSA in Chandpur

They made derogatory comments defaming Islam and the prime minister

Police have arrested two people from Lamchari village of Matlab Dakkhin upazila in Chandpur in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).

The arrestees--Sumon Biswas and Adhir Chandra Mallik— had been making derogatory comments about Islam, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh Police on Facebook for last few days, said Swapan Kumar Aich, officer-in-charge of Matlab Dakkhin police station.

Based on a complaint filed by the villagers, police detained the duo from their homes on Friday night, he added.

After verifying the allegations, a case was filed accusing them with the police station, said the OC.
