A student of Jahangirnagar University has tested positive for coronavirus, making it a second case among the students of the university.
The infected youth is an undergrad student of the Institute of Information Technology under the university.
He has provided his samples to the Savar Upazila Health Complex on Saturday, which came out to be positive on Monday, said the patient.
“I came into contact with my uncle--who works in the fire service--and upon knowing about his infection on May 19, I went to the hospital to test myself.”
“After being tested positive, I am under isolation at my house. However, as the hospital authorities were not assertive about testing my parents and brother, I fear they might contract the virus from me.”
The director of JU’s Institute of Information Technology, Mejbah Uddin said: “I talked to the student and assured him of helping him in all possible ways to recover from the deadly virus.”
