The booths were set up to ease the collection of samples amid the increasing rate of Covid-19 infection in the district
Mushfiqur Rahim, wicketkeeper, batsman and former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team has helped set up four coronavirus sample collection booths in Bogra on Wednesday.
"The booths financed by Mushfiqur have collected 50 samples for the covid-19 test on the first day," Samir Hossain Mishu, Sadar upazila health and family planning officer said during the inauguration program.
Two under-19 cricketers Touhid Hridoy and Tanzid Hasan Tamim were present when Masudur Rahman Milon, secretary of the Bogra district sports association inaugurated the booths.
"Three sample collection booths were set up in front of the Sadar Upazila Health Complex along with a separate booth for the safety of the doctors who check on Covid-19 patients. The other sample collection booth was set up in front of Rabeya Nursing Home in the city," Dr Samir added.
Mushfiqur has also distributed PPE to doctors and healthcare workers and provided food supplies to 350 families in the city during the course of this pandemic with the money he got selling off his bat, said guests speaking at the inauguration program.
