Woman beats husband to death in Jamalpur

A woman reportedly beat her husband to death in Charkamalbarti village of Sadhurpara union in Bakshiganj upazila, Jamalpur, on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Mohol Ali, 50, said Bakshiganj police station Officer-in- Charge(OC) Shafiqul Islam.

Police detained Sultana Begum,35, after the incident took place at around 10:30pm.

Sultana hit Mohol Ali on the head with a stick and strangled him to death at one point in an  altercation at around 10:30pm . Locals later handed Sultana over to the police, according to Mahmudul Alom Babu, chairman of Sadhurpara Union Parishad.

Speaking on the issue, Bakshiganj police station Officer-in- Charge(OC) Shafiqul Islam said a murder case has been filed, and the dead body was sent to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital.
